[Summary]
EverLighten once again proved that we are way ahead of the competition in helping customers create high-quality custom products on a tight deadline. We helped Moniomi with custom basketballs. It was an intensely challenging project that tested our communication skills, manufacturing expertise, and experience. But, like always, our team overcame each difficulty to make high-quality items. We delivered on time with complete satisfaction.
[About]
Moniomi is at the pulse of the Miami art and design scene and has become a birthplace of creativity. Moniomi revamps and transforms the ways we live. They believe it is our purpose to live beautifully. They design a space, create an art piece, assemble attire, and plan an event. Their passion is to enthrall people in the most creative environments, absorbing it all and then passing that on to those around us.
[What they were looking for]
Margaret Alvarez, the designer & co-founder, wanted 50 pairs of size three basketballs with premier synthetic PU material, smooth emboss, and high-quality carcass for their exhibit fair and resale. Since it was a distinct and rush order, they could not find any manufacturer. Secondly, the order size was small; the usual order is much more because the size three basketball requires a different carcass than the regular ones. It is challenging to find or create them. Thirdly, the design was complex with 8-panel patterns, and the stripe color was unique.
[What we did for them]
It was challenging to communicate with her since she was not responding to calls, emails, and SMS. However, we continued our efforts until we got their attention.
We discussed the different materials and carcasses used in custom basketballs. We explained the customization process and the details to complete the project. The team asked for the AI/file, and our designers tried to make a digital mock-up.
However, the customer's design needed to have the correct Pantone codes. We extended our time to ensure that we made the digital mock-up correctly. The mock-up was approved. But, the customer had a very tight deadline. We explained that we should rush the order and skip the sample stage to meet the deadline. Because the sample progress is about ten days, and even if we hastened, the fastest time is about seven days. And the production also needs 7-10 days. They were hesitant at first, but our team convinced her.
[The outcome]
But, we encountered another issue in production. The carcass for size three basketballs needed to make them unique and colored trim was out of stock. It would have taken another seven days to reorder the material. Our production team looked for ways and advised making some modifications to make the basketballs on time.
They were hesitant, but the team convinced her. Our production team continued with the bulk production and delivered the items before the fair - the logistics team used the fastest air shipping.
